Women Deliver 2026 draws 6,500 to Melbourne as Confined 17 showcases 424 Indigenous artists
Some 6,500 people converged on the Melbourne Exhibition Centre for Women Deliver 2026, a four-day conference held along the banks of the Yarra River and centred on feminist solidarity, resistance and re‑imagination. The event in Melbourne hosted sessions focused on those themes, drawing attendees for a program that highlighted advocacy and collaboration across the feminist landscape.
Elsewhere in the city, 424 Indigenous Australian artists with lived experience of incarceration in Victoria are presenting their work in The Torch’s Confined 17 exhibition. The show is on display at the Glen Eira City Council Gallery in Melbourne.
Together, the conference and exhibition underscore parallel conversations in the city about equity, expression and community, with large-scale convenings and cultural platforms shaping the public agenda.
