China and France shoulder important responsibilities for upholding international peace, stability and development, Wang Yi said during talks in Beijing with Emmanuel Bonne, the French president’s diplomatic adviser, on May 8, 2026.
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, met Bonne in the Chinese capital for discussions. He said the two countries, as permanent members of the UN Security Council and major independent countries, share duties in maintaining international peace and stability and promoting development.
