U.S. sanctions 10 China and Hong Kong entities over support for Iran’s drones and missiles
The United States has imposed sanctions on 10 individuals and companies in China and Hong Kong accused of supporting Iran’s development of Shahed drones and ballistic missiles. Announcing the move, the U.S. Treasury said it remained ready to take economic action against Iran’s military industrial base to prevent Tehran from reconstituting its production capacity.
The department framed the sanctions as aimed at constraining networks that enable Iran’s unmanned aerial vehicle and missile programs. The measures target entities the U.S. says are linked to the supply chains behind Iran’s Shahed drones and ballistic systems.
Washington has repeatedly used financial restrictions to disrupt companies and individuals it alleges contribute to Iran’s defense manufacturing. The Treasury signaled more steps could follow, stating it stands prepared to act against additional actors tied to Iran’s military industrial base if necessary.
