India’s release calendar fills up across screens this week, with a high-profile streaming return and a cluster of Hindi films slated for the same theatrical date. The action-thriller series 24, starring Anil Kapoor as ATS chief Jai Singh Rathod, is back with both seasons streaming on JioHotstar.
Presented in a real-time format, the show will drop new batches of episodes every Friday, beginning April 24, offering viewers another run at its high-stakes drama. On the film side, several Hindi titles are scheduled to open in theatres on April 24, 2026. The Wardrobe, a supernatural horror-thriller starring Divya Agarwal and Rajniesh Duggall and directed by Saurabhh Chaubey, follows a sinister presence tied to an old wardrobe.
Ginny Weds Sunny 2, described as a spiritual sequel with a fresh story and cast, features Avinash Tiwary as Sunny, a professional wrestler, and Medha Shankr as Ginny; the Prasshant Jha-directed romantic comedy centers on a chaotic married life built on lies told by their families.
Mercy, the directorial debut of Mitul Patel, is a social drama about passive euthanasia led by Raj Vasudeva as Shekhar, with Adil Hussain, Niharica Raizada, Aparna Ghoshal and Kunal Bhan, unfolding around a painful decision on Christmas Eve.
Shree Baba Neeb Karori Maharaj, directed by Sharad Singh Thakur and starring Subodh Bhave in the title role, traces the life of the revered saint Neem Karoli Baba from his early years to the Kainchi Dham ashram, with Hiten Tejwani, Smita Tambe, Hemant Pandey and Savita Chaudhary in support.
New streaming arrivals extend beyond 24. Nukkad Naatak, a Hindi independent drama about two friends expelled from college after a canteen theft who must enroll five underprivileged children to earn their way back, is set to stream on Netflix from April 24, 2026, following its theatrical run.
In Telugu, Lechindi Mahila Lokam, a satirical comedy-drama directed by Arjun Gunnala and Carthyk Desari and starring Lakshmi Manchu, began streaming on Sun NXT from April 22, 2026. With genres spanning horror, romance, social drama and spiritual biography, the week offers a cross-platform mix.
