Qatar will stage the 2026 Finalissima, with European champions Spain set to face Copa América holders Argentina at Lusail Stadium on March 27, UEFA announced on Thursday. Kickoff is scheduled for 9:00 pm local time. Lionel Messi’s Argentina won the 2022 edition 3-0 against Italy and will return to the Lusail venue, where they were crowned world champions three years ago.
Spain and Argentina have met 14 times, with each side recording six wins. UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said the fixture “symbolises the unification of two footballing continents” and showcases the sport’s global reach, calling it an evening of elite football and international celebration.
