Vice President JD Vance cast his ballot in Cincinnati, voting alongside his son, Vivek, at St. Anthony of Padua Maronite Catholic Church. Vance made a brief stop in Ohio to participate in the state’s primary before continuing on to Oklahoma and Iowa. Across the border in Indiana, turnout built through the day in communities including West Lafayette, where voters filed into local vote centers.
On the trail in recent weeks, Indiana state Sen. Spencer Deery of West Lafayette, who represents District 23, canvassed neighborhoods as he sought to connect with constituents ahead of Tuesday’s contests. The primaries come less than five months after Indiana lawmakers voted on Dec.
11, 2025, to redistrict the state’s congressional map. The legislation was sponsored by Republican state Sen. Mike Gaskill, who fielded questions from Sen. Greg Walker during the debate at the Statehouse in Indianapolis. Tuesday’s results will set general-election matchups in Ohio’s gubernatorial and Senate races and frame a series of intraparty battles in Indiana involving Republican incumbents and challenges from President Trump.
