Nasser Al-Khelaïfi marks 800th match as PSG president with Nantes milestone
Paris Saint-Germain’s home match against FC Nantes on Wednesday is more than a chance to strengthen their lead in Ligue 1. It also marks Nasser Al‑Khelaïfi’s 800th match as president of the club, a symbolic milestone in a tenure that began on 4 November 2011 following the Qatar Sports Investments takeover.
Nearly 15 years on, the Qatari executive is celebrating his 5,283rd day at the helm—a record for the club founded in 1970. During that span, PSG’s first team has claimed 40 trophies, including 11 French league titles and a Champions League trophy on 31 May.
Under Al‑Khelaïfi, PSG became the first club in Europe’s top leagues to complete the domestic quadruple on 30 May 2015 after beating Auxerre, a feat they repeated in 2016, 2018 and 2020 before achieving a sextuple in 2025. The milestones have framed an era of sustained dominance in French football and a breakthrough on the continental stage.
His influence has extended beyond results. The official return of the Ultras to the Auteuil stand was confirmed on 1 October 2016. He also drove the creation of the PSG Campus, a state-of-the-art training center whose inauguration on 21 November 2024 marked another turning point for the Parisian club.
As PSG face Nantes, the club’s pursuit of league points coincides with a moment that underscores Al‑Khelaïfi’s imprint on its modern identity—on and off the pitch.
