Mumbai today: SSC results out; Mahim–Matunga outage, EEH jam, SEBI convictions, Bengaluru–Mumbai train
Mumbai saw a flurry of developments across education, transport, power and the courts, as the Maharashtra board released Class 10 results and commuters contended with The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) declared the SSC 2026 results and said the result link is now active for students to access.
The release marks a key milestone for lakhs of Class 10 candidates awaiting their scores. City services were under strain elsewhere. Residents in Mahim and Matunga faced another long power cut on Thursday evening, while heavy traffic congestion slowed the Eastern Express Highway near Vikhroli on Friday morning.
On intercity connectivity, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi announced a superfast train service between Bengaluru and Mumbai. Details on timelines and operations were not immediately included in the initial update. In the courts, a Mumbai SEBI court convicted Dinesh Doshi, Anil Doshi and six Damayanti Group firms.
Separately, an NDPS court in the city denied bail to three accused, including two NESCO employees, in a drug case. In another incident drawing attention online, a woman biker alleged in a viral Instagram video that a scooter rider stalked her. Cybercrime and policing also featured on the state agenda.
The Maharashtra government sanctioned ₹9.44 crore to equip cyber police stations. In a corporate case, a ₹75 crore fraud and data theft case was registered in Mumbai after Emcure alleged a breach. Meanwhile, Sena (UBT) leader Priyanka Chaturvedi criticised the state government, citing recent NCRB data.
