Mexico has arrested Audías Flores Silva, a drug kingpin viewed as a possible successor to the notorious cartel boss known as El Mencho, according to the country’s security leader. The official said Flores Silva was captured as part of an ongoing national crackdown on drug‑smuggling cartels.

Authorities did not immediately release further details about the operation. El Mencho — who led the powerful Jalisco New Generation Cartel — died in custody earlier this year.
