Kuwait inspection drive records 93 violations, citing prohibited items and unlicensed businesses
KUWAIT CITY, April 11 — Kuwaiti authorities recorded 93 regulatory violations during field campaigns targeting commercial establishments across the Al Farwaniyah, Capital and Al Ahmadi governorates, officials said.
In Al Farwaniyah, monitoring teams issued 30 violation reports for breaches that included selling goods of unknown origin and prohibited items such as “tobacco gum,” failing to label gold products with required information, and misleading advertising of services not actually provided.
Authorities also issued 10 notices there — eight of them to unlicensed businesses — and warned grocery stores for violating regulations on the sale of energy drinks. Joint inspection teams in the Capital and Al Ahmadi governorates recorded a further 63 violations during similar campaigns.
These included failure to specify warranty periods for new and refurbished spare parts, non-compliance with rules governing the sale of energy drinks, and violations of Ministerial Resolution No. (31) of 2026, which prohibits the sale and trading of drones. One establishment was formally cited for breaching that regulation.
Officials said the ongoing inspection campaigns are intended to strengthen regulatory compliance, protect consumers and ensure adherence to commercial licensing and safety standards across the country.
