Hells Angels member charged with allegedly impersonating former ADF member
A 41-year-old Hells Angels member has been charged after allegedly posing as a former Australian Defence Force member during an organised crime investigation, NSW Police said.
The man was arrested in Peelwood about 3.40pm on Tuesday and charged with “falsely representing to be returned soldier, sailor or airman.” Police said strike force detectives became aware of the alleged impersonation while probing ongoing criminal activity involving the Hells Angels OMCG.
With assistance from the ADF, detectives from Raptor Squad’s Strike Force Benson learned the man had no military service record with any branch of the ADF, according to police. The man was granted conditional bail and is due to appear at Goulburn Local Court on Wednesday.
Police said inquiries under Strike Force Benson are continuing and urged anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers.
