Delhi CM Rekha Gupta unveils 2026 air pollution plan, cites 'historic' Green Budget

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has unveiled an air pollution mitigation plan for 2026, announcing its rollout and positioning it as a follow-through on the government’s environmental pledges. Gupta said the initiative builds on what she described as the administration’s “historic” Green Budget for 2026-27.
She added that the plan is intended to translate clean air goals into measurable outcomes, signaling an emphasis on implementation and tracking progress. Framing the plan within the upcoming budget cycle, the chief minister presented it as an extension of the government’s green priorities.
While she highlighted the budget’s significance, she focused on the need to link commitments with clearly defined results over the 2026 period. Air quality remains a prominent policy concern in the capital, and the announcement underscores the administration’s focus on delivering measurable improvements.
Gupta said the plan’s rollout is designed to ensure clean air targets are pursued with accountability and a results-oriented approach.
