Cyprus Airways named fastest-growing airline in western Europe at Athens workshop

Cyprus Airways has been recognised as the fastest-growing airline in western Europe at the 2.5 Airline Marketing Workshop in Athens, held as part of celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of Athens International Airport. In a statement, the airline said the distinction highlights its strong growth trajectory, the continued expansion of its route network, and sustained investment in enhancing regional and international connectivity.
It added that the award also reflects its commitment to reliable services, improving the passenger experience, and supporting tourism and business travel across the region. The event took place at the Athens Conservatoire and brought together airline executives, aviation professionals, economists, journalists and industry specialists.
Discussions focused on the future of aviation, market developments, resilience, connectivity and the evolving challenges facing the sector. According to the announcement, presentations and thematic sessions examined geopolitical developments and their impact on air transport, resilience and leadership during periods of uncertainty, and cybersecurity and risk management in aviation.
The workshop also explored prospects for international connectivity and the industry’s economic growth outlook, with contributions from senior executives and representatives of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). Cyprus Airways said the recognition reflects the collective effort of its team and its long-term commitment to strengthening Cyprus’ position as a regional aviation hub.
