Environmental law firm Beveridge & Diamond managed to increase its gross revenue by over 8% to $124 million, as it increased its attorney head count and faced headwinds tied to policy and enforcement shifts under the Trump administration.

The firm's 6.2% YOY revenue increase is in line with indicators that firms below the Am Law 200 have followed the Second Hundred in demand growth.
It's "green arrows up" so far in 2025 for midsize firm Hinckley, Allen & Snyder, as the Northeast-based firm, which was No. 2 on the Mid-Market Pro 50 in 2024 and 2023 and is close to a spot on the Am Law 200. Since April, at least six midsize law firms have launched new offices either through lateral hiring or through merging with a local shop.
Of those launches, half marked expansions outside of firms’ regional bases while others retained roots in specific regions. Hodgson Russ is expecting double-digit growth in profits and income after last year's slump in both categories, coming from a boost in work within the firm's litigation and corporate practices.
"Our size constrains how comfortable we are raising our rates. I don't want to raise rates more than 4 or 5%, because our clients come to us because we offer something different than those big firms," said Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel chairman David Nasatir.
