April 2026 release calendar: Bhooth Bangla, Dacoit, Ginny Weds Sunny 2, Peddi and more

April 2026 is shaping up to be a busy month for moviegoers, with a slate that spans horror-comedy, action, romance and the supernatural. Five titles are set to roll out across the month, led by new work from Priyadarshan and high-profile casts that pair familiar stars with fresh combinations.
Kicking off the month on April 10 is Bhooth Bangla, a horror-comedy directed by Priyadarshan and headlined by Akshay Kumar, with Tabu and Wamiqa Gabbi in key roles. The project reunites Kumar and Priyadarshan in a comic-horror vein reminiscent of Bhool Bhulaiyaa.
Also arriving on April 10 is Dacoit, starring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur, with an ensemble that includes Anurag Kashyap, Prakash Raj, Sunil, Atul Kulkarni, Zayn Marie Khan and Kamakshi Bhaskarla. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film was shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi.
The romantic comedy Ginny Weds Sunny 2 is set for April 24. Billed as a spiritual sequel to the 2020 film Ginny Weds Sunny, it introduces a new lead pairing with Avinash Tiwary and Medha Shankr, alongside Lillete Dubey, Sudhir Pandey, Govind Namdev and Gopi Bhalla.
The film is written and directed by Prasshant Jha. Sharing the April 24 slot is The Wardrobe, a Hindi-language supernatural thriller directed by Saurabhh Chaubey. The film marks Divya Agarwal’s Bollywood debut opposite Rajniesh Duggall and centers on a mysterious wardrobe that triggers a series of terrifying, inexplicable events inside an ordinary household.
Rounding out the month is Peddi, set for theatrical release on April 30. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, the film features Janhvi Kapoor and Jagapathi Babu in the lead, with Shiva Rajkumar and Divyendu Sharma in prominent roles. Promoted as one of the most anticipated titles of 2026, it has been generating early buzz among audiences.
With releases clustered across mid- and late April, audiences can expect a mix of thrills, laughs, love stories and genre twists as the month unfolds.
