According to a social media update by Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, Sri Lanka’s Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, visited the MEA for a briefing on India’s digital health ecosystem.
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing and the National Health Authority showcased eSanjeevani and last‑mile healthcare delivery via health kiosks, built on the country’s digital health repository infrastructure. Separately, the government dismissed a video circulating on social media that purported to show Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman endorsing an investment platform promising easy gains.
The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau said the clip is fake and AI‑generated. In multilateral developments, India swept unopposed four elections to ECOSOC bodies at the United Nations. The elections at UN headquarters were conducted by acclamation, indicating unanimous support from member states.
Beyond India, Bangladesh plans to import 200 broad‑gauge railway coaches from India, with deliveries expected to begin this year and be completed by December 2027. In the United States, President Donald Trump criticised NATO for not supporting the US in the Iran war, following a private meeting with the alliance’s Secretary General, Mark Rutte, at the White House.
